Analog Dessert Remote for Ableton Live
Run Ableton Live from your phone while you play your synths across the room.
A mobile and web controller for Ableton Live, allowing you to mix, play/stop clips, record, loop, add/edit tracks/sends. I needed a hands-free way to jam out on my synths, and record them while away from the computer, from a DAW on my phone.

I wanted to stand at different parts of my studio, play leads and basses on my synths, and arm and record from there, away from the computer. Analog Dessert Remote is a mobile remote for Ableton Live on your phone, tablet or computer on the same Wi-Fi.
My favorite part is the Print Track button on each track. One tap creates an audio track, mutes it so the sound does not double, routes the source into it and arms it. Tap again to record, and once more to stop. Choose where it records from: Pre FX, Post FX or Post Mixer.
What else the mobile remote can do in Ableton Live
- Mix your tracks. Set volume, pan and sends, with the Master and Return tracks always in view.
- Launch clips and scenes. Record into empty slots, and rename, duplicate or delete clips.
- Mute, solo, arm and record from a grid of track tiles.
- Build your own pads, faders and knobs for track controls, transport and device parameters, and save the layouts.
- Jump to bars and named locators, and drag the loop handles to change the loop.
- Lock the faders and knobs while the transport and clip buttons stay active.
For live performers
The Pads view is for playing live. Set a pad to mute, solo, arm or trigger something, and choose what it does when you tap it or hold it.
How the mobile remote connects to Ableton Live
Install the desktop app on your Mac or Windows computer. The installer adds the Analog Dessert Remote script to your Ableton User Library.
Open the app, then scan its QR code with your phone or tablet on the same Wi-Fi. The Remote opens in the web browser on your phone, so there is no phone app to install. Your phone becomes a mobile controller for Ableton Live.
You need Ableton Live 11 or later, and a User Library on a local drive. Cloud-synced User Libraries do not work.
Ableton and Live are trademarks of Ableton AG. Analog Dessert Remote is an independent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Ableton.
