Eventide H8000FW Remote

1. Connect the unit to your computer by Serial or MIDI.
2. Open the app settings. For Serial, set Port, Baud Rate, Data Bits, Stop Bits, Parity and Flow Control to match the unit. For MIDI, choose the MIDI Out Device and MIDI In Device, and set the Sysex Device ID to the same number as the unit (1 to 99, default 1).
3. Click the mirrored LCD and the soft keys to work the unit.

The EVE/NET hardware remote was discontinued years ago and now sells for $1200-2000+ when available on Reverb or eBay. Many H8000FW units don’t even have the EVE/NET port. Meanwhile, users on Gearspace and the Eventide forums have been asking for a software-based H8000 remote for years.

Eventide’s H8000 Routing Utility is great for I/O configuration, but it isn’t a full remote controller. This tool fills that gap, giving you complete control and LCD visualization from your computer.

Will this H8000 remote replace a dead LCD?
Functionally, yes. You can operate the unit via mirrored display and soft keys even if the front-panel screen is completely unreadable. This is much cheaper than a hardware display replacement

Is this an EVE/NET replacement?
It’s a software alternative. EVE/NET was a dedicated hardware remote for H8000/H7600/Orville; this gives you a modern software-based option without the hardware expense or scarcity issues.

Why is Serial faster than MIDI for the screen?
The LCD bitmap is large; MIDI SysEx is bandwidth-limited. Serial has higher throughput, so refresh looks/feels snappier.

Does Eventide offer a full software H8000 remote?
No. They provide a routing utility (for I/O) only. This app is a full on-screen control + LCD mirror, developed by Analog Dessert to solve this exact gap in Eventide’s software ecosystem.

Which units does it work with?
The H8000FW and H8000. Support for the H7600, Orville and DSP4000 is experimental.

Does it work with the Eventide Orville?
Orville support is experimental. The H8000FW and H8000 are the supported units.

Is it a plugin?
No. It is a standalone app for Mac and Windows.
